design.

when we got married we each picked out one thing to buy with our gift cards - something from our registry that we didnt get. then we spent the rest on groceries for a few months. i chose this nifty can opener ($10), it cuts from the side, so there are no sharp edges and you never lose the lid inside the can.

david's choice, on the other hand, was really attractive, but had an unknown flaw. he really liked these lamps that we have on our bedside tables (much more than $10). they're nice, but they have really poor design. the little metal pulley thing to turn it on and off is just long enough that it clinks on the side of the metal lamp base. any little nudge sends it into a metal on metal clinking madness! we just wind the string around the wires on the shade, but this makes it hard to use, so we rarely use these awesome lamps. i can't believe that the great target designers missed this flaw!

The can opener is nifty. {I hate it when the can top gets into the can too.} Sarah I have texting on my phone now so text me sometime.
